| Welcome to the OFFICIAL site of The Bryan Adams High School Alumni
Association ***********************
As another school year approaches, I am excited and honored to be your new
alumni association president. We will soon be announcing some exciting
changes, and a Homecoming that you won't want to miss!
The below is a response I've received from Mrs. Goodsell in response to the rumoured BAnd uniform changes.
Dear Alumna of Bryan Adams High School,
Recently, a petition was started regarding the uniforms and marching style
of the Bryan Adams High School band. Unfortunately, this has led to a
misunderstanding of what is actually happening.
First, I would like to say that you to all who called or sent an email to me
regarding this matter. Many were filled with heartfelt emotions about their
time as a member of the BAnd. I heard from alumni who line in Oklahoma,
Michigan, and Colorado. Many played in the BAnd in the 1970's, 1980's, and
1990's. I appreciate your concerns, so please allow me to clarify exactly
what is or is not being done.
In the coming year, 2008-2009, there will be no change to the traditional
green and white uniform that was adopted in 1971. When school resumes in
August, the current BAnd members will have a chance to choose a second
uniform option. The band as a whole will then choose which uniform to wear
at which events in the coming years. Also, concert uniforms have been
ordered for the concert band to wear at UIL competitions and other events.
These uniforms include a blazer and a pair of black slacks.
Let me reiterate, NO new uniform has been ordered at this time.
In closing, it is gratifying to see the affection and concern you have for
your alma mater. We, the faculty and staff of Bryan Adams High School,
encourage you to come to our events or volunteer in our school. Your
presence and efforts would be greatly appreciated.
Please feel free to contact me any time you have a concern or request for
information how our school, Bryan Adams, is doing.
Sincerely,
Cynthia Goodsell
RUMORS ARE RAMPANT! Band Uniform Changes
I am concerned to report that many rumors have been circulating regarding
changes at the school. These rumors seemed to take root and grow because
some changes are being made to the band uniforms. I am glad to report the
green and white stripped uniform that has been in use since 1971 isn't going
away, but BA is getting a new uniform. Our school will now proudly have
three (3) uniforms that can be worn for different occasions. No other
school in Dallas has such an opportunity for diversity and style dictated by
the occasion.
There have also been rumored changes to the Belle Uniform and Cougar "logo",
all completely unfounded. Our principal, Cynthia Goodsell recognizes the
importance of tradition. She has done an excellent job of balancing
tradition yet creating new traditions in sync with the 21st century and
today's students. She has dedicated herself to promoting a positive image
of Bryan Adams, a school steeped in tradition, but also facing the
challenges of being fifty years old made. BA has a student body today
without many of the advantages that most of us from earlier years enjoyed.
Ms. Goodsell has a tough job to take on the changes required to attain and
maintain academic excellence, and she deserves our support.
Changes are hard, but sometimes necessary. I have heard from many of you
who do not want changes. I will be asking Ms.Goodsell to provide us with an
regular article or perhaps a blog to keep us informed of all the happenings
at the school. We are alumni who are extremely proud of our school and we
care about what happens. I just ask that we stay positive, stay informed
and support the positive changes that inevitably will take place. Please
let us know how you feel. The "Cougar Talk Forums" on this website (BAHS
EVENTS) is the perfect place to share your views, your comments and your
concerns, as well as ask questions.

Be sure to register AND UPDATE AND/OR CONFIRM your information on our new system and to be on the lookout for information in the near future about a special all alumni event!
The Bryan Adams High School Alumni Association (BAHSAA), founded in 1992, is now a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. We rely on donations / fundraising to help the graduating Seniors of Bryan Adams High School in Dallas Texas. Funds generated through brick sales, donations, our new Scholar"Shop" Online Mall, and other activities support scholarships for graduating seniors each year, in addition to providing for other needs of our Alma Mater.
BAHSAA has awarded nearly $25,000 in scholarships the last 3 years and 33 scholarships since 2000.
If you have not already updated your information with us, please help us keep up with you for your class reunions and other alumni information by clicking here and searching for yourself, then update your information.
You will be able to choose a username and password (all alumni can do this - we are updating paid alumni who will have higer access), plus change any incorrect information. We still have several things to finish, as you will see, but this will help us insure that your data is as up to date as possible, make sure that we get information from people we may not have it on, and insure that when your class has a reunion, they can get the information to you at the correct address.
We have
added PayPal so that you may easily order your bricks
/ tiles (check out our gorgeous wall!) and renew / become an Alumni Member.
If you have not already added yourself, or confirmed the move of your information from our other site, please
be sure to Join
the Mailing List to be notified of "All things
BA" that the Association is involved with.
We are
looking for Class Representatives for each year to help
with keeping information accurate for their classmates.
Please contact us if you can do this for your
class. If you have received an email from a BA Alumni "like" site - please click here!
